What is EMDR therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps your brain process and integrate difficult or distressing experiences.  When something overwhelming happens, it can become ‘stuck’ in the nervous system.  EMDR helps your brain reprocess these experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity.

I'm an accredited psychotherapist, EMDR consultant and clinical supervisor with over 16 years’ experience across private practice and education.I bring a calm, thoughtful and down-to-earth approach to my work, creating a space where you can feel supported while also working towards meaningful change. We won’t rush into anything — we’ll build stability first, so the work feels contained and supportive

What sessions are like

Sessions are structured but flexible.  Some sessions focus on EMDR processing, while others allow space for reflection, understanding patterns, and building coping strategies. The aim is steady, meaningful progress — without feeling overwhelmed.  Session fees and availability available on request.
